I have a draft tonight that includes DB's DL and LB. 1 of each. I have absolutely no idea where to value those players and where to draft them. This will be a 12 team dynasty league. I know in a traditional league drafting a kicker last and team defense shortly before that is a good way to go. I don't know about where in the draft to value individual defensive players.

Draft Ryan Fitzpatrick for your QB.

You individually draft defensive players?

Check the rules of your league, but normally your DL/LB won't be generating a lot of points (assuming they only get points for sacks/TOs), and they'll get picked up 6th or 7th round earliest. If you also have to draft D/ST, I'd do that before the individual defensive players.

Yes. One DL (I want Watt) one LB and one DB (I don't want to draft one of these any time soon with the new penalty system)

I think they score points for tackles because they score roughly the same number of points as any other position player.

The beard is worth 50 points a game, solid.

My league makes us have two defensive players (doesn't matter their position though). My strategy is always to get the guys who put up reasonable points consistently. It's hard to get a guy who had a bunch of sacks/interceptions last year and expect him to do the same. I always grab the guys who had the most solo tackles last year since they will most likely be doing the same this year.

Just my two cents.

Yeah my thought on a DB isn't to grab a corner but rather a safety like Polamalu who will get some sacks and make a lot of tackles.

yeah, my team currently has two linebackers. Kinda depends on your own preferences.

What can you tell me about linebackers you targeted this year and when did you draft them? I know on the DL I want an edge rusher. Suh may be the best DT but he's still an interrior lineman not getting a lot of sacks or tackles.

Haha honestly I don't know too much about the NFL but I know how to check their stats (which is easily available in my league). Also the defensive players get about half of what a WR or RB will get so it's not that big of a deal, but can mean the difference between a win or loss.

Anywho I just filter down the list of players to defensive and then select tackle solo. This gives me the list in highest number of solo tackles from last season. Then I check maybe 10 or so and see who has some interceptions, tackles, recovered fumbles, etc. Basically who can do a bit extra.

I picked up DeMeco Ryans and Karlos Dansby. They aren't necessarily the guys who put up ridiculous plays (like Polamalu, Suh, or Clay Matthews) and get tons of sacks, but they're reliable game to game, which is what I am looking for. If you want one of those play-makers, maybe check out who has the most sacks or something. The defensive line doesn't get too much coverage, so some guys who are able to put up a lot of points can be forgotten. All I know is LBs are typically in a good spot to take down the running plays.

Last year, my fantasy team name was "Ryan Fitzpatrick's Beard."

Didn't say anything about him being hurt. Not even him coming off an injury. Let's hope it stays that way...
